Spring Events in Hida Takayama♪
Hello! I’m Kawai, a service staff member at Machiyado Ichiryu♪
Hida Takayama’s winter is long, and snow can fall even in March, so spring comes slowly.
For this reason, in the Hida region, the Doll’s Festival is celebrated on April 3rd, according to the lunar calendar, rather than March 3rd♪
Walking through the streets of Hida Takayama, you can enjoy gorgeous Hina dolls in townhouses and old houses from March to April.
At the entrance of Machiyado Ichiryu, you will find a cute clay doll welcoming you.
The clay dolls, which have a sense of history, are from the days when the inn was still in operation.

There is also a Shinkohgei Hina doll at the entrance to the restaurant 168tei♪
This is also a shop in an old town, and since each doll is handmade, I had a hard time deciding which one to buy because of the subtle differences in their expressions.
Shinkohgei’s Hina dolls, with their gentle woodblock print colors and cute expressions, are also recommended as a souvenir from Takayama.

The Hinamatsuri Stamp Rally is currently being held, where you can visit the various unique Hina dolls at each facility and shop!
